On March 12, 2025, Mona Neubaur, Minister for Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Protection and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, visited the Aldenhoven Testing Center. She was joined by Astrid Hohn, 1st Deputy District Administrator of the district of Düren, Mayor Ralf Claßen and Dr. Patricia Peill, Member of the State Parliament, to visit the center for the mobility of the future.
Formerly a coal mine, the Aldenhoven Testing Center is now an innovative research and testing center for companies working on the mobility of tomorrow. Thanks to funding from the State Ministry of Economic Affairs, this center has been equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and a unique 5G Mobility Lab - for companies from NRW and all over Europe!
Minister Mona Neubaur emphasized: “From a colliery site to a test center for the mobility of the future: the Aldenhoven Testing Center is an impressive example of successful structural change in North Rhine-Westphalia. With state-of-the-art communication infrastructure, the digitalization of mobility is being decisively advanced here. Companies from NRW and all over Europe benefit from the technical possibilities on site, which contribute to the further development of their innovations. The ATC plays a key role in the further development of North Rhine-Westphalia as a business location - a real success story in structural change!”
