At our Aldenhoven Testing Center, twelve tracks provide excellent conditions for research, development and validation of individual systems and complete vehicles. They include classic elements such as an oval track, a handling course and a vehicle dynamics area's surface.

The latter was built in 2009 and now needs to be renewed for aging reasons. As announced, we are therefore now starting the overhaul. For this purpose, the vehicle dynamics area's surface will be closed for two weeks from now for the necessary milling and resurfacing. During this construction phase, restrictions are to be expected in the oval circuit due to crossing construction traffic.

We'll let you know when we're done and keep you updated via our current construction website.

Facts about the vehicle dynamics area's surface

[Skizze: Fahrdynamikfläche]

As a flat circular area, the vehicle dynamics area's surface has a diameter of 210 m and can be used for motorcycle, car and truck driving tests with axle loads of up to 10 tons. The acceleration lane is 400 m long as standard and 500 m long as an option. It meets all the requirements for Safety Assist tests according to Euro NCAP.

At the edge of the vehicle dynamics area there is also a sensor shaft into which various sensors or cameras can be inserted at ground level. They can thus be driven over and enable, for example, recordings of moving vehicles from below or of tire slippage.

Our Road Edge track according to Euro NCAP test protocol "Lane Support Systems" is available when exclusively booking the Vehicle Dynamics Area.
