On July 1 and 2, 2023, nine riders were on hand at our Aldenhoven Testing Center – with an exciting reason: record attempts on the recumbent bike took place on our test track. The HPV Deutschland e.V. (Human Power Vehicles Germany) and DropLimits organized the record weekend. Our track has been used several times for HPV events, but the dimension was still new this time.

Daniel Fenn, Ruben Schütze, Nici Walde, Wulf Kraneis, Melchior Poppe, Ralph Würtele, Heinrich Neumann, Matthias König and Holger Seidel tried to set new world records in 6, 12 and 24 hours. Melchior Poppe rode an unclad recumbent bike, the rest of the rides were on so-called velomobiles. All vehicles are drives with pure muscle power!

The event ended with several records:

  • Melchior Poppe set a new record with the recumbent bike on 6 and 12 hours,
  • Matthias König set a new record for 6 hours with the velomobile
  • and Ruben Schütze broke the record from 2013 by Christian von Ascheberg over 24 hours.
  • Holger Seidel was also able to break the old record.

We warmly congratulate them on these achievements!

As a test center especially for SMEs and startups, we are always pleased when our customers not only test with us, but also book our premises for such occasions. Our experienced team will be happy to advise you.
