There is a lot going on again today at our test site in Aldenhoven: To train even more drivers on the important topic of safety, the Aldenhoven Testing Center is offering a workshop on the "Failure System Car" for applicators, test and safety drivers. For this purpose, the company Driving Concept provides a vehicle. In the joint workshop, speakers Armin Eckl, Managing Director of Driving Concept, Dennis Eckl, Head of Internal Driver Training, and Ralf Steeb, Technical Development at Schaeffler-Paravan, will train participants in the safe environment of the test center.
The drivers have to demonstrate their confidence in dealing with sudden errors while driving: Various "errors" and also sequences are played in the vehicle while driving, e.g. a malfunctioning steering system. The test drivers then have to react quickly. Their handling of the challenges is practiced with practical driving maneuvers and then discussed with the trainers present.
The aim is to train the participants in the correct course of action in the event of sudden errors, to raise awareness of how to deal with automated or partially automated vehicles in everyday testing, and to improve driving and motor skills.
Therefore, the workshop includes
- A brief presentation of the vehicles and their technical capabilities.
- Use of such vehicles in the area of driver training, subject studies, etc.
- Presentation of possible training contents with practical driving maneuvers.
- Feedback and open discussion.
At the Aldenhoven Testing Center such workshops and driver trainings take place from time to time. If you are interested, please contact our team at:
