At the Aldenhoven Testing Center, automatic lane keeping systems (ALKS) were tested and evaluated by BASt in cooperation with fka GmbH in various test scenarios. This was done as part of the HEADSTART project (Harmonised European Solutions for Testing Automated Road Transport), An EU-funded project that aims to define test and validation procedures for connected and automated driving functions.
See here the video showing a selection of the following test scenarios:
- Cut-in with powered two-wheeler (PTW)
- Rescue alley for emergency vehicles
- Swerving side vehicle
- Partially blocking vehicle
- Crossing pedestrian
- Cut-out fully blocking
- Lane change of another vehicle into lane
- Fully blocking pedestrian target
