At the Aldenhoven Testing Center, automatic lane keeping systems (ALKS) were tested and evaluated by BASt in cooperation with fka GmbH in various test scenarios. This was done as part of the HEADSTART project (Harmonised European Solutions for Testing Automated Road Transport), An EU-funded project that aims to define test and validation procedures for connected and automated driving functions.

See here the video showing a selection of the following test scenarios:

  • Cut-in with powered two-wheeler (PTW)
  • Rescue alley for emergency vehicles
  • Swerving side vehicle
  • Partially blocking vehicle
  • Crossing pedestrian
  • Cut-out fully blocking
  • Lane change of another vehicle into lane
  • Fully blocking pedestrian target

Would you also like to use our 2 km long oval with steep curves, the driving dynamics area with 210 m diameter or our hill with gradients up to 30 %? Our modern, interdisciplinary test center for mobility allows to simulate almost all situations from real traffic on twelve track elements.

It is open to all interested companies, especially SMEs and start-ups. It is also a popular location for corporate events. Our team will be happy to advise you!
