The Aldenhoven Testing Center, in cooperation with the company Driving Concept, offers drivers various qualifications to prove that they are qualified to drive on the proving ground:

In our ATC Basic offer, we provide training in a one-day course.. The vehicles used are provided.

  • In theory, participants learn about safety during test drives, the physics of driving, over or under-steering and discuss the practical driving exercises.
  • In the practical part, they drive slalom, increase their individual driving speed, practice avoidance up to 130 km/h, comparative braking at 100 – 130 km/h and double unbraked lane changes at 75 – 95 km/h. Oversteering and understeering as well as braking in a curve and handling are also practiced.

Failure simulation training is additionally offered with the course ATC Basic+ for a maximum of five people. This gives enough travel time per participant. Based on the basic qualification, drivers are made aware of automated vehicles, steering robots and automated driving. Here the steering, brakes and the system in the vehicle are manipulated. Time measurements from the triggering of the fault to the driver's reaction (e. g. emergency stop) are also possible, as is a “Wizard of Oz” operation. A final discussion and tips round off the course with us in Aldenhoven.

We recommend our ½-day ATC Basic refresh course as a refresher for driver qualification.

The training courses are subject to a profound evaluation of the riders. Successful participation is confirmed with a certificate. We accept the basic qualifications of other testing grounds, as long as they are not older than four (initial training) or three (follow-up training) years.

We offer these trainings on a regular basis. If you are interested, please contact our team: Phone: +49 2464 979 83 10 or at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
