The Berufskolleg Jülich recently visited us at the Aldenhoven Testing Center. The classes that visited or will visit us on three dates are trainees in their 3rd year of training to become automotive mechatronics technicians. The young people had recently been studying driver assistance systems in class. Therefore, after a tour of the site, they were given explanations on how to test automated driving functions. Finally, each of the participants was allowed to perform an emergency braking maneuver with their own car on the ice-slick braking test track simulated with tiles.

The series of events was organized and moderated by driving instructor Heinz Dickmeis, Verkehrswacht Jülich, accompanied by teacher Knut Jansen. In this way, school subjects can be taught and even experienced in practice after the theory.
