Did you know that the Aldenhoven Testing Center is not only a modern, interdisciplinary test center for mobility, but also a joint venture of the Düren district and RWTH Aachen University? And it is equally open to all interested companies, especially SMEs and start-ups.

Wolfgang Spelthahn, District Administrator of the Düren district, was able to see this for himself on site. At the start of his summer tour, he visited us at the Aldenhoven Testing Center, where research is being carried out on 12 track elements on this important topic of the future. In the technical exchange, the main topics were alternative drives and energies as well as autonomous driving. On the premises, he was able to take a look at the professional test track on which everyday traffic situations are simulated. Just how far automation processes have already come was also demonstrated by a transport robot that can be used, for example, to deliver parcels or groceries when shopping.

"With the ATC, we are glad to have an institution on site that is working on important topics for the future," said District Administrator Wolfgang Spelthahn. Also present at the first stop of the summer tour were Mayor Ralf Claßen and Ayse Kaplakarslan and Amedeo Cellucci from local politics.
